Pre-meetings in France

Unfortunately, there is little chance that I am in Portugal this summer.
That said, there will most certainly be one or more meetings in the South of France. It's a place I know perfectly well, and I can load to pass the word over there. I'm sure some would be pleased to arrange a pre-meeting in their city, particularly in Toulouse and Perpignan.
Toulouse is not exactly on the fast track to Portugal, but in my opinion the detour is well worth to be done.
I'll post back soon with concrete stuff. If you want to plan a meeting in another French city, please let me know, I could perhaps help.

Lyon
There will be a lot of people going through Lyon.
It's on the way to Barcelona for:
Paris (not the most direct, but the best to hitchhike because it has more trafic).
Anything in Germany.
Anything Between Paris and Germany.
The British Isles and Ireland
All of Poland and Czech republic
Anything east of that.
Scandinavia and Finland
Most of Russia
And the rest of Central-Eastern-Europe that wants to go around Italy. So Ukraine is in, sort of.
And it's 650 km from Barcelona.
By late July, I'll probably have a nomadbase set up there, and I know some people that will be able to host groups.

Lyon, Perpignan, Barcelona..
I didn't heard about your project in Lyon. Sounds great!
So yeah, if there is a consequent meeting in Lyon and another big one in Barcelona, it would imply short steps if we also prepare one in South West ...
But then, we are not making a race, are we?
Short and multiple steps would be a good way for people to get to know each other, make projects, etc. What do you think about that?
Anyway, I keep on working on the idea of a meeting in this area, and will see how things evolve.
Chilela : if there is a pre-meeting in Lyon or in S-W, it will probably be on the 3rd or the 4th (if it happens like last year, one meeting on the evening and on the road again to the next step on the morning). Maybe a bit earlier if there is a consequent event in Barcelona before the final destination?
Julien, do you have infos about that or is this for now just an idea you mentionned?

I plan to stop in Lyon, coming from Luxembourg. I sure hope I can join your pre-meeting! I'll be leaving from Luxembourg on the 30th of July.

yeah it should be nice to create an event for Lyon or Toulouse, who will be there and can create a cs event for lyon or facebook maybe ?

I spent the whole summer 2009 hitching/wwoofing/squatting in Portugal ... it is such a beautiful country for sure !(I'm thinking of some good places... there are a lot!) ... but I don't know how to manage to get there because in august I'll be in Finland,- and I want to travel the balkans as well...
but a pre-meeting in France would be perfect!
